Damn you, Disney! Damn you for making me actually care about Pirates of the Caribbean again!

Oh why, oh why did they have to go and redeem themselves with At World's End? Now I'm all piratey again and wanting to watch PotC all day instead of going to work and wanting to write Will/Elizabeth fics and finish my epic adventure quest fic that completely disregards what happened in the last two movies because I started writing it before they came out...

I don't need another fandom, Jerry Bruckheimer! DAMN YOU.

I was so unprepared  that I didn't even snag an Pirates icon! God damn it.

Although I'm pretty sure Geoffery Rush is the only reason this movie was so much more awesome than Dead Man's Chest, because the plot...heh. Yeah, nice one guys. Could you try and be even more convoluted and confusing next time, plzthx? Because after about the 50th betrayal sequence I was about ready to bash my head into the seat in front of me.

Geoffery Rush = LOVE.

HOW CAN YOU END A MOVIE LIKE THAT?!!!!!!

*dies*

As you probably can already tell, I've just gotten back from the midnight showing of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. It was very good for a sequel (and that's all I'm going to say so I don't spoil), but I'm pretty sure I like the first movie better. This one was very dark and wasn't as fun as the first - too much over-the-top action and it felt a little long in places. There wasn't as much character interaction as there was in the first, obviously because everything important about the character's has already been established. It's a lot more emotional than the first, however, and the actors give better performances, especially in the case of Orlando Bloom.

The ending is absolutely horrific - and here I thought my cliffhangers were terrible. I don't want to wait another year to see the third movie! I want it now!

There's was a Snakes on a Plane trailer at my theatre. *madgrin* I punched my fist in the air and screamed, "YES!" when I saw it, earning some strange stares and whispers from the people in front/behind me. I then giggled madly throughout the entire trailer and high-fived my friend at the end.

It's going to be the best movie eva.

Did I also mention that the SOAP trailer came right after the teaser trailer for Transformers?

I wish I was joking.

The moment I saw the title on the screen, I yelled, "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" and then proceded to dissolve into a fit of mad, shock induced laughter. No one else around me seemed to find this a hysterical as I did.

So yesterday I discovered that there's a new trailer circling the internet for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and it took me an entire hour to find a version that would work on my crappy upstairs computer. My basic thought through the entire trailer was:

OMFG why can't July be here RIGHT NOW?!!!

And:

WTF is up with the Jack/Elizabeth moment?!??! What about WILL, damn it??!!

And then I ran through the house screaming in excitement. It's a little sad that my family is no longer frightened when I do these sorts of things...

The teaser trailer made PoTC 2 look a little iffy. You know, the whole "it might be a good even though it kinda doesn't look that way, but I'll see it anyway because of Mr. Depp and Mr. Bloom" iffy-ness. But THIS trailer made it look AMAZING and I am soooo sorry I doubted the skills of the great Gore Verbinski and Jerry Bruckheimer.

Muwahaha. Pirates.

*giggle*

In other movie news, I went to go see Poseidon today because I'm a fan of the original and Josh Lucas is a complete hottie, even without his southern accent. I thought it was good but way intense. Basically, once the ship turned over the action boulder started rolling and it didn't stop for a rest until two minutes to the end of the movie. The effects were pretty good - I've read that ol' Wolfgang Peterson was trying to out-Titanic Titanic and he did a pretty good job if it, though Titanic was a little less firebally and explosive. I like how the ship was falling apart and exploded as the survivors fought through it - the old version just had those explosions that were hardly convincing.

It was just a slight improvement over The Poseidon Adventure though. Adventure drags a lot, even during action sequences, and Gene Hackman basically shouts through the entire effing movie. It's unrealistic too, but what can you expect from a movie made in the 70s? Adventure had better characters, however, and you kinda sorta cared when they died. In the new one, it was all, "Oh, so-and-so died. So sad. Not," because they didn't have as much character development at the beginning.

All-in-all, it was a good, at the edge of your seat, action movie and not much else. If you liked the original, you'll probably like this one. Final grade: B.

I'm currently surfing BabyNames.com to add to my name list. I'm looking for some character name ideas, in case you're wondering.

My father's probably going to have a heart attack when he sees it in the internet history. Knew I probably shouldn't be doing this on his laptop.

Be proud! I added another page onto Chapter Nineteen today! That being said, I also will most add three pages onto the jumble that is my Pirates of the Caribbean fan fic, but hey...I'm writing, right?

*winning grin*

I've now recovered from the shock of qualifying for Nationals in debate, though I still have hysterical bouts of disbelieving laughter from time to time. (Thanks for the congratulations, _silent_wishes, and sorry for not responding to comments - I'm such an incredibly lazy ass.) Seeing as though we've proven ourselves worthy, Kallis is now letting us compete at state and I have this weekend to write two cases about big box retailers. *eye roll* At least it's not as completely mundane as the NBA dress code topic.

I also need to re-write my National History Day paper AGAIN this weekend. I had it finished, but now Haar says I need to have the actual pentagon papers sourced in my paper and because I have four hundred words left until the limit, he wants me to add more. He also wanted me to check out about four more books on the subject and read them over the weekend so I could add even MORE to my paper (after I spent Thursday night cutting everything out of it), but I don't care and I'm not going to do it. I'll write a paragraph about the pentagon papers and even source them, but I am THROUGH with looking for more evidence. I think my paper is strong enough the way it is and if Mr. Haar doesn't like it, that's fine with me.

Anyway, enough with my bitching and complaining.

Scene from Chapter Nineteen )

I figure I need to reassure my reading base that I'm still writing, so above is a scene (more like HALF the chapter, HAHA...er...right, not kidding...) and here is me begging for forgiveness for being so lazy and ignoring this fan fic. I won't have it finished by the end of February (since, you know, it's in like three days), but I'll have it finished soon. That's about as much as I can promise right now.

....

So, do we have any Pirates of the Caribbean fan fic readers in the house? : ) Well, even if we don't, I'll still going to post a chunk of the chunks that I'm trying to string into a story. I think writing this story in pieces is easier than trying to write it all out  in sequence, simply because all my ideas are changing faster than they did for Nothing on Earth, though that fic has come a long way from what I first thought up two years ago.

Anyway, here's a small portion of what I have for the PoTC fic. It's not edited and might never appear in the actual fic when I get around to writing it, considering I just had a new idea for the beginning, but I do like this scene, so...eh...yeah.

I like expanding my horizions...

Bloody lucky Will... )

Eh. So that's that.

Later.
