crackfic *grumbles*

I really hate fic. Hate, hate, hate.

Why do I always get the insane inspiration for epic fics I'm never going to finish/public when I have five other fics I really want to finish on my computer?


Stupid, stupid, stupid crackfic! 

Well. At least it gets me writing. I need the practice. Plus, I'm still a bit burned out from AP Novels - twelve papers in nine weeks! *dies all over again* 

At least all we do in AP Poetry is get into a big group and discuss the meaning the of the poems. If only I didn't feel quite like a traveler on the Oregon Trail when Mr. Beard calls out, "Circle UP!" everyday. No one appreciates my sarcastic comments about creating a circle to protect our women and children from the Native Americans.

Tsch. 

Off to write Teyla/John crackfic that will never see the light of day.

You can have her back, really! I have no need of her - I just went out and bought the Black Jewels Trilogy (thanks to your fic, btw) and I really want to read it, 'cept I have a Shermer High idea rattling around in my brain...

Speaking of Shermer High, is there going to be an update of In The Game soon? And may I borrow your Teyla-playing-football idea because it's absolutely adorable? ;)

Yes, there is going to be an update once I get out of this zinefic thing and have freedom to write other ideas.

I never post a chapter unless I have two others finished, so I need to finish Chapter 7.

Good policy. I'm a terrible updater. I always tell myself that I'm going to wait until I have half the story written until I publish, but I'm such a feedback whore that I need to post it as soon as I get it back from a beta.

Told myself I wasn't going to do an SGA mutli-chapter fic because it will never be finished, but my muse has other ideas.

I do it with the AUs, but try to avoid it with the 'regular' fics. Because, yeah, if I start a story, I don't always finish it.

And sometimes, in a big, long, gen story, I want to be able to put everything together, and check it for problems, issues, and errors, and then post it once I know it's clear.

And yes, you can have the idea! Shermer High is really just a concept - the original comm promoted Shep/Weir, which I don't write.

So I just flipped it on its head and had some fun with it.

I noticed all the AUs promote Shweir and I had to hold back the gag reflex. Had an excellent J/T idea for the Langford University AU (come on, Professor!Shep and Professor!Weir pairing over Professor!Shep and Student!Teyla pairing? WTF?) but I don't like wandering into Shweir territory too often. They're scary sometimes. :S

It depends how open-minded the comm is, and what pairing.

Liz/Ronon is acceptable to most Shep/Weirs, John/Teyla is not. So even posting John/Teyla to those AU comms is generally disallowed.

I generally feel the fear and do it anyway. But I'm like that.

Personally, I've created crackerrific for my AUs - even if I haven't yet pimped it. I'm waiting until I finish something reasonable that I can post there as an 'opening gambit' - haven't had a chance lately.

Probably because Liz/Ronon would never ever EVER happen in canon and John/Teyla is pretty much the only ship the show actively (in the typical will they/won't they fashion of Stargate) promotes besides Rodney/Katie Brown?

I think I stumbled across your comm once in my travels in the SGA LJ fandom. AUs are the devil, but they're so much fun to write/read!
