Total Fic Wordcount for 2009: 107,255 words published. I probably have a whole lot more on my computer.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? More. Much more, considering I didn't write much in the backhalf of 2008 and I had fallen out of writing for Stargate Atlantis and didn't have a new fandom then.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2009? I wrote slash for the first time this year. Not much, but I had never done it before, so it was a new step for me. I'm usually in fandoms where there's already in a huge slash presence so I never feel the need to add to it.

Also, if you had told me that the main fandoms I would be involved in 2009 would be kid lit, I probably would've been a little skeptical. But considering I'm in the process of writing smut for another children's book series, I am no longer surprised. Why, fandom, why do you do this to me?

Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them? I wrote fic for NaNoWriMo, and I learned that it is possible for me to write 3K plus in one day if I was focused and wanted it enough.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year? I'd like to finish Death's Dare by the end of the summer, and maybe try picking up original writing on the side again. I'd like to continue writing PJO fan fic and try to get away from writing fic about the Main Four (Nico, Rachel, Percy, and Annabeth) for a bit.

From my past year of writing, what was...
My Favorite Story: If I had to pick one, probably "The Three Lives of Luke Castellan," just because it turned out so much better than I thought it would.

My Best Story: "The Three Lives of Luke Castellan," hands down. I'm very pleased with the way that turned out, and by the response people had to it. I think it's one of my best pieces of writing ever.

Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe: Um, I don't think I had one of these this year. The response to my fics has been quite overwhelming, and I really apperciate all the comments I get to any of them.

Most Fun: Either "Cheater, Cheater" or "Better Late Than Never." They were both fun Percy/Annabeth pieces to write, and I want to do a couple more like them.

Most Surprising: Probably "Invulnerable and Invincible" just for the sheer response it got.

Most Disappointing: I had a pretty good idea for another Thalia/Luke fic, right in the middle of November, and I just could never quite get it off the ground. There's a couple of other unfinished fics from Percy Jackson and multiple other fandoms that I could apply this to as well.

Sexiest: "Enjoy The Show." It's a Percy/Nico/Annnabeth smutfic, how does that not win?

Sexiest Single Moment: Probably can be found in a couple of fics I haven't finished/posted yet for the [livejournal.com profile] pjo_kinkmeme.

Hardest to Write: "Annabeth's Choice"/"Percy's Flaw." They were my first fics for Percy Jackson fandom and I was kind of scared witless to post them since back in March, there was a tiny/hard to find PJO fandom on LJ and the fandom on FFnet was kind of intimidating. So I obsessed over this two fics for weeks before posting - like I think I had "Annabeth's Choice" in my document manager on FFnet for at least a week and half, and I'd just open it up every day to tweak something about it because it had to be perfect - and I was just so nervous about posting for no real reason at all.

"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you" Fic: Again, probably some stuff I haven't finished/published from [livejournal.com profile] pjo_kinkmeme. The things it makes me doooo.

Fic That Shifted My Own Perceptions of the Characters: "Death's Dare" really changed the way I looked at Rachel and Nico. When I first read the books, I wasn't a big fan of Rachel (possibly because she was in the way of Percy/Annabeth for a little bit) but once I started that fic, she's become my favorite character to write. She practically took over the NaNoWriMo project midway through and I think I write more (unfinished) fics in her POV now than any of the other main characters.

Wow! That was sure a successful year for you! Hopefully 2010 will be just as great, if not better!
Also; the 3 lives of luke, was one of my favorites that you've ever written!
So you wrote your nanowrimo 09 fic on pfo? Have you posted part of it yet? I couldn't find it, but maybe i just didn't look hard enough...

The NaNoWriMo fic is "Percy Jackson and the Demigod Snatchers." It has it's own tag, so if you check that, you should be able to find it. ;) It's due for an update sometime soon too.
