Scrambling up Scaffolding
Apr. 27th, 2006 10:33 pmJust spent about the past six hours of my life decorating the Commons for prom. We were hanging long strands of gosmar from the ceiling and I had to scramble up and down twenty feet scaffolding. When I wasn't whinging about falling to my death or being scared of heights, it was actually sort of fun. I sat around and talked to Josie and Elizabeth and Nicole before she went into the gym. The Commons looks pretty cool with the gosmar hanging up.
Unsurprisingly, the people who really care about prom - the ones who spend $400 on a dress, rent a limo, etc - didn't come to help decorate. There was barely twenty of the two hundred juniors there to help and only one fo the class officers showed up - and he had a track meet to go to beforehand. I don't know what the others excuses are, but they better be good, though it was more fun without those people.
I'm going to be sore tomorrow. Climbing up and down and lifting heavy pieces of scaffold are not easy tasks. Plus, I had to climb barefoot because I wore flip-flops. Note to self: wear tennis shoes tomorrow.
I haven't had time at all this week to write on LJ or write any fanfiction. I had Woksape on Tuesday night, I had to babysit last night, and tonight and tomorrow I'll still be doing prom decorations. I won't have any time to write on Saturday because it's PROM.
Ah, prom. It's not really all that it's cracked up to be. My date and I hardly talk, and he's obsessive-complusive over another girl. I never managed to loose the weight I was supposed to so I wouldn't have a bump on the front of my dress. I'll be having dinner with the one boy I cannot STAND for the life of me, but I suppose that'll be better than an awkward dinner with just my date. Plus, we're going to Chinatown (HAHA). AND, apparently, it's going to fucking RAIN. ON PROM. MY HAIR IS RUINED ALREADY.
But at least we managed to get spot 28 out of 200 people for Grand March. I'll be able to watch all of my friends walk down! Yay!
What completely sucks, however, is that I won't be able to sleep in after prom is over because my youngest cousin is having his first communion the DAY AFTER PROM.
WTF?
I'm going to be such a crab-ass...God must really hate me.
Whenever I recover from prom, I'm going to start writing more. I need to finish a one-shot first and then I'll continue the chapter. I'm hoping to finish Twenty-One before my birthday next month (the big 17!).
Hopefully, if I don't get home at midnight tomorrow, I'll be able to post some reviewer responses.
Hasta Luego.
