So I've got a week to write 10,000 words for my fic for
pjo_bigbang.
Yeah, this is what I get for spacing this thing off.
I'm working on the sequel to my AU, Ad Initium, which I'm calling Medius. I planned this as a series of three one-shots, but Medius is already 5K long and I haven't even gotten close to finishing to finish the second "part" yet. I should be able to get this finished pretty fast though, because I have the story pretty well fleshed out. I don't want to jinx it and say it will probably be more than 15K, but it's certainly looking that way.
Here's a selection for you, 'cause I probably won't be able to post this thing for a while:
Medius actually focuses pretty heavily on developing the Percy/Annabeth relationship as well as focusing on Percy's role outside of the demigod world. I think it's going to be really fun to finish up, once I have the time.

A couple days later, Annabeth’s finishing up the last details on her sketch in Drawing and Painting when Rachel slides into the seat next to her and says, casual as you please, “Are you aware that you have an insanely huge crush on my best friend?”
Annabeth’s fingers slip in surprise, and a long, black smudge of charcoal appears across the page, nearly ruining the rest of the drawing. She curses under her breath, and puts her sketchpad down, glaring at Rachel.
“Warn me next time you decide to ruin my concentration,” she snaps, although it lacks any serious bite. The drawing isn’t anything important; just something she’s doing to pass the time instead of chatting and giggling about her plans for Thanksgiving break like the rest of her classmates. “And what were you talking about?
“You having a giant crush on Percy, of course,” Rachel repeats, a little louder this time. Thankfully, everyone else seems to be caught up in their own little worlds and are used to ignoring Rachel’s lack of volume control, so her statement isn’t overheard. Still, Annabeth can’t fight the flush of embarrassment that rushes to her cheeks.
“Me have – have a crush on Percy? You’re joking,” she scoffs. “Whatever gave you that stupid idea?”
Rachel shrugs, reaching up to adjust her ponytail. “Oh, nothing much. It’s just that you’re always picking fights with him so you can argue with him and then you act like you’re so mad he argued back with you even though you actually enjoyed it. You talk about him when he’s not around, even if you’re just complaining about how obnoxious he is. You blush when he compliments you, you always laugh at his stupid jokes, and don’t even get me started with the way you look at him when you think no one else is paying attention.”
That’s certainly not nothing much, and Annabeth knows her face must be as red as Rachel’s hair right now.
“What look?” Annabeth replies, because it’s the only thing she can force out of her mouth without dying in embarrassment first.
Not because she does have a crush on Percy, because she most certainly does not, but because if Rachel noticed all these signs and came to a false conclusion, that means someone else must certainly has as well and there’s probably rumors about her and Percy flying up and down the hallways by now.
“Like, I don’t know. You kind get all soft and mushy, like you’re thinking about him putting his tongue down your throat, which I wouldn’t recommend, by the way – ”
“Rachel!” Annabeth interrupts, mortified, because she has certainly never thought anything like that about Percy Jackson.
Never. Never ever.
All right, so maybe she had dreamed about it once or twice, but that was after she ate some really funky left over Chinese and it didn't mean anything in the slightest.
Medius actually focuses pretty heavily on developing the Percy/Annabeth relationship as well as focusing on Percy's role outside of the demigod world. I think it's going to be really fun to finish up, once I have the time.
