Isn't Grover RR's fave, though?
I've sort of gotten the impression that RR is not quite as attached to Nico as a lot of fans are, so this nose doesn't greatly surprise me. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, though, and assume that it's because he wants to devote the new series to his new characters. Having Annabeth (hopefully) play a big role and having the book set around the premise that Percy is missing...well, throwing other characters in there might have detracted too much from the new guys. I'm wondering now who else is NOT in it. Rachel? Thalia?

I do think, though, that Percy is the lost hero. I'll be very surprised if there's some big twist and it turns out that it's Nico instead. I think, in this instance, the hints we've been given are probably pretty indicative of the actual plotline.
