If we are gonna perform Inception, then we need imagination

You guys. You have to see Inception sometime this summer. Like now would be good.

It's one of those movies you talk about for like a hour afterward and you still can't get over how good it was. The acting's awesome, the special effects are sweet, and it's just great. It's also a total mind fuck, but in the absolutely best way possible.

Plus, Joseph Gordan-Levitt is fucking hot in those suits. Also, Leo DiCaprio. Enough said there.

brb, finding the the movie score. Hans Zimmer, you fucking genius...

eta: Beware of spoilers in the comments.

Dude, THIS MOVIE. My friends and I were all incredibly bummed that we couldn't do the "stay up and talk about it for an hour afterwards" thing because we went to the midnight showing and had to get up for work tomorrow. Sucks.

It was all we talked about on our walk back to the Metro and while we were riding back home, haha. I'm still trying to talk about it with everyone I know who's seen it because I keep changing my mind about that fucking ENDING.

THAT ENDING WAS EVIL. When the screen cut to black there was a quite audible groan from the entire theater. I've decided to accept it as happy, but...GODDAMN. EVIL.

My theater had the same reaction. Everyone started whispering right before the cut to black, and then it was the massive public groaning. I'm leaning more toward the pessimistic side, and I might have to go see it again just to see what clues I can gather.

I've been running it over and over in my head, and I can honestly see it both ways. I mean, Cobb COULD'VE created the whole end of the movie as a construct, but that's just so...depressing. I mean, I want so bad to believe he could stop being a slave to his guilt...

Well, I think the fact that he saw his kids shows that he gave up his guilt, no matter if he ended up in reality or was still stuck in limbo, and that's all he wanted in the end. But the kids were wearing the same outfits/looked the same as they did in the memories, so that casts doubt on that. Plus, he's using his wife's totem and we're told that using another person's totem is Not A Good Idea.

What I can't decide is if the entire movie was the dream or if just the Inception heist was.
